At the Santa Monica office of Brightleaf Cosmetic and Holistic Dentistry, we pride ourselves on offering the best solutions for each smile. Dr. Ana Brightleaf will work individually with you to determine what treatments will best meet your needs. In some instances, treatments such as porcelain veneers and crowns are combined to provide a complete dental makeover. This is based on what is best for your particular smile.

Crowns vs. Veneers

Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin shells that are placed over the front of your teeth to correct cosmetic issues such as chips, uneven spacing, irregular sizes and shapes, and severe discoloration. Placed over the front of your teeth, porcelain veneers can produce incredible cosmetic results, but are not well suited for functional restorations.

Porcelain crowns are placed over your natural teeth and offer similar cosmetic benefits to veneers. However, porcelain crowns restore strength and function to teeth that are broken, severely decayed, weakened by a root canal, or even missing. Crowns are both a functional and aesthetic restoration, making them better suited to meet a number of general and cosmetic dental needs.
