“I would recommend to focus on quality when it concerns your dental health…”
You get what you pay for. Quality in dentistry makes a difference
When it comes to dental work, you get what you pay for. When seeking dental services we recommend you focus on quality to ensure that you are happy with the results. Accepting cheaper work can result in disappointments and the need for corrective treatments.
If you have teeth that need to be replaced, you may be thinking about dentures or dental implants. Dentures cost less, but dental implants are superior for many reasons. Consider the differences between the two.
The deal with dentures
If you opt for dentures, Dr. Brightleaf will make well-fitting custom dentures, but with the lower denture especially, you will probably need adhesive to keep them in. Adhesive can last through the day, but before the day is over most people wind up with loose dentures that slip and can cause embarrassment, or pain if you eat something that gets caught between your dentures and your gums.
The other drawback to dentures is they need to removed to be cleaned by brushing them under running tap water with soap or special denture toothpaste.
The implant edge
Implants are permanent. A titanium post is implanted in your jaw, and the artificial tooth is attached to the post. The post serves as the “root” of the tooth, so implants are definitely the next best thing to real teeth. With implants there is no slippage, no embarrassment, no pain and no adhesive.
Dental implants are brushed the same way you brush your teeth. You can use a gentle, non-abrasive toothpaste. Simply put, dental implants are so similar to real teeth no one will know the difference.
Are dental implants for you? Find out
The cost of dental implants is higher up front, but over the years you will avoid the cost of adhesives, special cleansers, cups and denture brushes. Dentures must be repaired or replaced every few years, but dental implants can last a lifetime.
The quality of dental implants is superior to dentures and the quality of your life with implants will be too. For more information on implants and dentures, contact our Brightleaf Dental office in Santa Monica for a consultation appointment.
